Two names on one license

C.K. is a person.

Clyde Kent Farmer took out California electrical license #354550 in March of 1978. His initials are on the truck. Forty-eight years later that license is still current, still active, and still his.

Shane grew up on those job sites — handing up tools before he was old enough to hold a drill, then pulling wire, then running the job. Today he does the work: the remodels, the service calls, the EV chargers, the troubleshooting nobody else wanted.

Are you licensed?

Yes. CK Electric and Sons holds California contractor license #354550, classification C-10 (Electrical), issued March 23, 1978 and currently active. You can verify it yourself at cslb.ca.gov — search the license number. We also carry the state-required $25,000 contractor’s bond.

Can you install an EV charger if I have two electric cars?

Usually, yes — but it depends on your panel, not your driveway. We run a load calculation on your existing service first. Many South County homes can run two Tesla Wall Connectors in power-sharing mode on a single circuit. Some need a panel upgrade first, and if that is your situation you will hear it before anyone starts cutting.

Do I need a permit?

Panel upgrades, new circuits and service changes generally do. Swapping a fixture or a switch generally does not. We tell you which one you are looking at, pull the permit when it is required, and meet the inspector. An electrician who offers to skip the permit is telling you something about the rest of their work.

How do you price?

Line item. Material and labor are listed separately so you can see what the parts cost and what the time cost. Small jobs can be priced from a photo over text. Anything structural, anything at the panel, or anything inside a wall gets looked at in person first.

What is the fastest way to reach you?

Do you work with general contractors?

Regularly. Licensed builders use us for remodel rough-in and trim-out, and we are used to working a schedule, coordinating around other trades, and handling correction lists directly with the inspector.

My breaker keeps tripping. Is that urgent?

A breaker doing its job is not an emergency, but a breaker doing it repeatedly is telling you something. Anything with a burning smell, a warm outlet, scorch marks or a buzzing panel should be shut off at the breaker and looked at right away. Call, do not text, for those.
